YEAR 7 PASTORAL CARE

Walking down the busy hallway of the B-building, you may have noticed the wonderful display of origami butterflies right next to the secretary’s office. Guess who is responsible for that colourful display?

Learning how to make paper butterflies (with thanks to Mrs. Kevser Tuncer!) was part of the Year 7’s Pastoral Care project not too long ago. The butterflies were symbolic of the notion of kindness discussed in our after school sessions. Our bubbly little Year 7 girls have come a long way in their first year of high school, learning about self-esteem, respecting elders, confidence, helping others, making soufflés, Oreo truffles and much, much more in their after-school Pastoral Care program. The program is designed for extracurricular activities that are aimed at instilling character-building, lifelong skills and abilities within our students. For the Year 7s, the Pastoral Care journey has just begun and we are excited for beautiful years ahead.

We hope to see all Year 7s on Tuesdays and Fridays! On Tuesdays, after-school sessions involve discussions, snack time, and an activity (usually cooking!). During our Friday lunchtime Pastoral Care sessions, we host reading circles and team-building fun activities for the first half of lunch. This is a reminder for all our Year 7s to participate and beautify the program with their presence. I assure you, you will not regret it!
